OUR BELIEFS

The Scriptures

We believe that every word in the original writings of the Holy Scriptures is inspired by God and therefore without error. We accept the Holy Scriptures as the supreme and final authority on all matters on which it speaks. (2 Tim. 3:15-17; 2 Pet. 1:19-21; Psa.19:1-7)

God

We believe there is one true God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, each of whom possesses equally all the attributes of Deity and the characteristics of personality. He is creator and sustainer of all things.  (Gen. 1:1; Psa. 90:2; Mat.28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14; Psa. 18:35)

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became fully Man without ceasing to be fully God through His miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit and sinless life. He voluntarily paid for the sins of all people by dying on the cross as their substitute, thus satisfying divine justice and accomplishing salvation for all who trust in Him alone. The third day, He arose from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God the Father, where He, the only mediator between God and man, continually makes intercession for His own. (Mat. 1:22-23; Isa. 9:6; John 1:1-5; 1 Cor. 15:3-4; 2 Cor. 5:18-21; Heb. 1:1-3; 1 Tim. 2:5)

Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit has come into the world to reveal and glorify Christ and apply the saving work of Christ to people. He convicts sinners of their need for Christ, baptizes them into the Body of Christ, imparts new life to them, imparts spiritual gifts to them, indwells them, and seals them until the day of redemption.  Each believer is called to live in the power of the indwelling Spirit and in so doing, his faith will be manifested in works pleasing to God. (John 16:5-14; 1 Thess. 1:5; Matt. 3:11;  Gal. 5:22; Mark 1:8; 2 Cor. 1:22; Eph. 1:13; 1 Cor. 12:1-7; Acts 1:8; Eph. 5:8-21; 1 Cor. 3:16; 2 Cor. 3:6; 1 Cor. 12:13)

Man

We believe that man was originally created in the image of God but fell into sin through disobedience to a divine command and, therefore, brought all mankind under condemnation. Man’s nature is, therefore, such that he is totally unable to please God for acquisition of a right standing before Him. (Gen. 1:27; Gen. 3; Rom. 5:12; Rom. 3:9-18; Isa. 53:6; Rom. 3:23)

Salvation

We believe that salvation is the gift of eternal life received only through a personal faith in Jesus Christ, Who was man’s substitute for sin. This gift is given by the unmerited favor of God (grace) and is given without regard to any and all human works or goodness.  All those who believe in the all sufficient sacrificial death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus are eternally secure in Him.  “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” (John 3:16; 2 Cor. 5:21; Eph. 2:8-9; 1 Pet. 1:3-5; John 10:28-30) Listen to Pastor David’s sermon on “The Doctrine of Justification” (Galatians 3:1-11)

The Church

We believe that man was originally created in the image of God but fell into sin through disobedience to a divine command and, therefore, brought all mankind under condemnation. Man’s nature is, therefore, such that he is totally unable to please God for acquisition of a right standing before Him. (Gen. 1:27; Gen. 3; Rom. 5:12; Rom. 3:9-18; Isa. 53:6; Rom. 3:23)

Core Beliefs
Based on what the Bible teaches, we feel very strongly about the following core values:
  • THE LORDSHIP AND SOVEREIGNTY OF JESUS CHRIST

In all we are and do, our foundation and focus will always be the honor and lordship of Jesus Christ and all things will be for His glory. Furthermore, understanding that with God all things are possible, our mission and ministry shall be limited only in those ways God Himself determines. We shall allow our hearts, minds, and souls to be stretched by the hand of God as He shapes and fashions us as a Church according to His perfect will.

  • THE AUTHORITY OF SCRIPTURE

The authority of our ministry originates and concludes with the Word of God as we submit ourselves to it’s teaching, commit ourselves to do what it says, and yield our lives to become what Christ desires us to be.

  • THE SUPREMACY OF UNCONDITIONAL LOVE

The love of God has been freely demonstrated to us. It was from a heart of love that God sent Jesus Christ to this world. God’s love never fails. We shall lift up unconditional love as the supreme spiritual gift and as the standard for excellence in our lives and ministry.

  • AN EMPHASIS ON EVANGELISM AND MISSIONS

We believe that Jesus Christ alone is the way to salvation. Our ministry calls for a strong emphasis on taking the Good News of Jesus Christ to this community and around the world.

  • AN ATMOSPHERE OF ACCOUNTABILITY

True Christian discipleship requires total commitment. We believe that biblical expectation calls for loving God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength. We shall live and minister with integrity and responsibility as well as personal and corporate accountability.

  • A SPIRIT-LED WORSHIP

Personal and corporate worship are vital to Christian growth. We shall strive for a worship experience that focuses on our relationship to Jesus Christ. This relationship is authenticated by the power and presence of the Holy Spirit and brings us into a fresh and holy encounter with God.

  • A STREAMLINED MINISTRY APPROACH

Desiring effectiveness and maximum potential in every area of ministry, we shall operate with as much simplicity of organization and structure as possible. We believe in the importance of being doers of the Word.

  • THE STRENGTH OF PRAYER

Understanding prayer to be our direct point of access to God the Father through Jesus Christ, and observing in Jesus’ life and ministry the importance of communicating to the Father through prayer, our lives and ministries shall be under-girded and bathed in prayer if we are to expect the blessing, power and presence of God’s Holy Spirit to rest upon us.

  • THE IMPORTANCE OF REFLECTING GOD’S IMAGE

We are created in the image of God. We are ambassadors for Christ to this earth. We lift up the importance of reflecting the holiness and beauty of our maker, allowing others to see Him through us in a way that is both clear and appealing.

  • A LIFESTYLE OF DISCIPLESHIP AND SERVANTHOOD

We shall stress the imperative nature of the continued relationship with Jesus Christ – the process of discipleship. We shall deny ourselves, take up our crosses and follow Him with the daily goal of growing in His grace and knowledge. This shall be facilitated with a humble servant’s heart, willingness to wash the feet of the needy, and gratefulness for every opportunity to serve Christ and His people.

  • AN INVESTMENT IN PEOPLE AND A FOCUS ON THE FAMILY

Understanding man to be God’s most significant creation and realizing Christ’s mission was and is to eternally redeem the spirit of every human being, our investments shall foundationally be in people. We recognize the family as God’s ordered pattern for our lives. We realize the significance of the home in the Christian life and development. Therefore, we shall be committed to strengthening the spiritual lives of families as they seek to build their homes on the solid foundation of Jesus Christ.

  • FREEDOM TO INNOVATE AND CHANGE

We recognize the eternal and unchanging nature of God’s Word and the ongoing need for ministry change and innovation in order to effectively facilitate the sharing of the Word and growth of God’s kingdom.
